Has anyone personally used these things? Denso makes them for like $8? each. I was going to change the plugs on my girlfriend's mom's Lexus RX300 and when I pulled the 1st plug noticed they were Denso Iridiums & looked like new at 75K. I'm currnetly using NGK V grooves for about $2each and change them about every 15K. My brother is thinking about putting a set in his LS1 Trans am. changing plugs in that car SUCKS. So, anyone know anything about them?

Been thinking about going to the Iridium plugs too. My father has them in his jeep and it made no difference. Just recently read a post on Pirate about the Iridium plugs and BlueCoyote3 was talking about using the double electrode plugs used in the 5vzfe (3.4 Taco motor). They fit the 22r/re with no issues. What makes them 'good' is that the spark kernal is out in the open, not hidden behind the electrode and they are only $1.69 at Autozone.

Part #'s are:
NGK BKR5EKB
Denso K16TR11

I may try this and see how well it works.

I replaced the plugs on my girls 3.4. weird looking NGK plug. I think I'm just gonna stick to my NGK Vgroove 1 colder for my 3.0.

i thought they were $8each but guess they're more. Screw it, i'm gonna stick to NGK's. I'll tell my brother only pro is longer change interval. for him it makes a difference, for me it doesn't.

You can get the NGK Iridiums plugs from Advance for $6.96.

They're part # BPR5EIX for my 85 4runner w/22re, I've been thinking about trying them out.

Weird thing is the iridiums carry a 3 month limited warranty and the standard plug carries a 2 year replacement warranty.

well, for $7each I might throw a set in next time. give'm 60K of use. It's actually cheaper in the long run. But I wonder if they really last 60K. I've tried Bosch platinum plugs before in my Vette & supra and HATED them. my vette had this "mystery starting problem". Very hard starting.. sometimes had to crank it 5 times to get it going. Buddy of mine told me it was the Bosch plugs and to try NGK V grooves or regulars and i did. never had the starting problem again. Only thing that changed was the plugs. So I've already been bitten by expensive plugs before.. that's why i'm weary now about iridiums.

I've had the Bosch platinum 4 electrode plugs in my 22RE for 100k miles now and theyre as good as the day I put them in! For all who say Denso and NGK is the only way to go I say not so. If you dont like changing plugs, go with Bosch. They work as well if not better than Denso.
