1. approx. 380 miles per tank mix of hwy, city and stop & go.
2. between 18 & 20 gallons of regular unleaded.
3. 3.0L V6 SOHC
4. 32X11.5XR15 aggressive a/t, at recommended freeway psi.
5. 90' LWB engine, running gear and auto tranny. 89' LWB electronics & body.
6. Still pending...
98' BBJ Grand Laredo 5.2 locked and loaded,.01' Gen III XLS. Frankenmonty lives on in another.

All city driving. So it's about 16 mpg. I don't think that's bad for a 7 passenger, 10 year old, 100K mile SUV. The only thing that gets me is the large tank and the ~$50 fill up. $60+ here <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" /> Your stats give me hope that once I fix my vaccuum problems with the lower plenum and alignment I'll get more mileage out of this car... 1. 287 mi (actual) 2. 21.? 3. 3.5LDOHC 4. 285/75R16 (30PSI) 5. 95SR 6. Lifted 2.5", ARB roof rack, Overhead plenum problems (currently unplugged), messed up alignment

before i got the carb rebiult i was getting about 22 to 23 but the secondary was shot.now i am getting 19 to 20 but i like to hot rod.i think regearing help me to keep ok mpg.also the truck is pretty light.
87 dodge power ram 50,35" tires,5 1/2" total lift,4.6 gears,lockers front and rear,Rancho RS5000's,custom front bumper,custom rock sliders,cct extended diff breathers,75 amp alt(40 amp stock),thorely header,K&N,wheeled hard...

6, 153,000 miles on car. 35-40psi in the tires.
I use this for a 25 mile each way commute. I get between 18 and 19.5 mpg.

This is great so far. Here's how it's shaping up so far: GenI 3.0 20.3 manual 19.2 unknown 15.5 auto 20.? unknown GenI 2.6 12.2 manual 12.1 manual 22.? auto 16.? manual 13.? manual 15.? manual GenI 4.3 20.5 auto GenII 3.5 16.? auto? GenII 3.0 18.7 manual? So far it looks like the EFI trucks are getting much better fuel ecomony. I'm a little suprised that the smaller, lighter trucks with smaller engine are doing so poorly. I have to wonder if this is an accurate trend or if this is only because the only rigs posted have problems. Please keep posting your results. Be sure to include actual miles and actual gallons used. Accuracy is key. And keep posting even if you already have. We're looking for patterns here (and it's something the government didn't look at when they did their testing). <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Clay

Gen 1 4 cyl turbo TBI EFI.
City highway mostly city mix 14 to 16.
Highway at 70-75 mph 20 MPG.
Things that helped. Good 02 sensor, alignment with 0? camber, lockup auto, 34 psi in the BFG AT (31"s).
On a good running 2.6 carb motorwith a manual I got about the same results but I had stock tires. Check out the EP site for their tested results.

12.2 MPG?!?! 1, miles traveled per tank= 132.41 2, gallons used= 10.8 3, engine size= 3.0 12V 4, tire size= 31" 5, year and model= 1997 Montero GL Dakar SWB 6, other mods that may affect fuel economy= I'm pretty sure it has a smaller muffler than it should.
