I am not aware of a 3.0 in a '98 Trooper, the oly two engines were 3.2 and 3.5. If your 8th charicter in the VIN # is a W, you have a 3.2, if it's an X you have a 3.5.
Both of these motors have the oil press sender next to the oil filter. Bon chance...Cal
