Does anyone remember the old magazine article about balancing tires that stated a special machine was needed to balance large truck tires. I have had two tire shops balance my 35" tires and I still get a lot of vibration at freeway speed.
Thanks

Yes, I think the GSP9700 is the correct machine. I will have to check to see if either of the shops I used has this machine. (probably not). I am leaving for baja on thursday so will be out of touch for a few weeks.

So are the T100 wheels lug-centric also? I seem to recall that they are. I have contacted one shop that has the GSP9700 but it wont take 35 inch tires. I am waiting for another shop to get back to me. If the machine does not fit large tires then I guess I am stuck with vibration.

You sure it's tire balance? Missing weights or see where some slid? Make sure it isn't the IFS starting to complain about 35s and a trip up the 'con. Or rear? Are your blocks corrected for pinion angle?
I'm using BBs next go round. About a pound of Counteract/tire still isn't doing all the job that much of it should, and it's no more cost effective than a machine balance to use that much of it, less cost effective even. I bet it'd still work as advertised on radial 35s and basic steelies, though. 8 oz/tire for that size iirc, and it is silent.

Where can you buy Counteract. Sounds like something to try for the random vibrations my tires have. Balancing hasn't worked so far.

Got a 6 Roblees down there? It's a truck/trailer supply store. Seems like it might be, but I have a hard time knowing what's a national chain any more. Looks like you got Dugco with just a phone number, AMI in Cordova, Guffy Tire Supply in Chatanooga and 31 Inc. in Newcomerstown, OH. Distributor Map

Most Les Schwab dealers have the maching. There are 3 in the Bay Area. Seems like they should be able to do the bigger tires.
