First off WOW!!! or as WOW as a 4 banger can get <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />. It runs great, I actually got it to bark second gear not chirp, it even kicked the rear to the side a little <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />.
Thanks guys,

Apparently I need to do the pump too, the blasted thing almost left me stranded <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />. And of course I just filled up the tank <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />, any suggestions on how to drain/siphon it low enough to get the pump out?

remove the line in front of the fuel filter and put it into a gas tank and turn see if it will siphon, or even if the pump might still push it out.

Well after finally getting offa my duff I changed out the fuel pump.... and the crank sensor..... and the distributer. And I'm still getting the spitting/sputtering.
Does this thing have a knock sensor, or could it be the injectors, computer?
The oddest thing is that it runs fine 90% of the time, but when it acts up I can hear some nasty noises in the exhaust manifold, even over my stereo <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
Please someone help <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

It may be the o2sensor is going bad, occasionally not going into open loop.Take it somewhere and have a scanner put on it to find out for sure.I dont know for sure but if it has a fuel pump ballast check it also.I'm sure someone here knows for sure if it has one.One thing is for sure though, before dropping more money than nessesary into it have it hooked to a scanner. That will tell you what is going on with it for sure.

I didn't even think of checking that, the CEL didn't even blink at me the intire time. After doing the off/on trick with the key I got:
21- O2 sensor orcicuit 23- Intakeair temp sencor or circuit
I'll test and replace as needed.
Thanks,

Update: changed out the sensors at fault and all is well. it runs like a top again.
New problem.... when I replaced the fuel pump I can't get the O-ring to seal for the life of me. It currently has a full tank of gas, and if the truck sits there, running or not, it dosen't leak but if I drive it anywhere it leaks <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />.
Any ideas as to what it is?
I've been told that the lock ring may have been damaged when I pulled the pump.

Make sure of where the leak really is! Could be a cracked hose.. You describe a pressure leak. I am not familiar with a pressurized o-ring on the pressure side. Big Jim <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />
