So, can I get new auto-locking hubs?

Sure call St. Charles. You might as well put a call into the loan officer at your bank.

Someone must make after market auto-hubs.

No. Why would they when they can sell the more simple working, stronger and more reliable manuals.

Will they be more expensive than their weight in gold?

Yes. Gold will seem cheap in comparison.

Just get the manuals. They can be left in 4x4 mode for as long as you want. At that point it is relatively like SOTF. It is similar to not backing up with autos after you shift back to 2wd.

In fact, we live in the same general climatological region. I have never run auto hubs on anything I own and life is just fine. Just lock them as needed. Trust me, E. Wa winters are not that bad for very long.

Good luck,
Michael

Just buy a set that someone on here removed to replace with manuals. We use the manuals because they are stronger, not because the auto's went bad. I know of 3 people that have a good set collecting dust right now. Including Onebadtrooper, and myself.

1992 Isuzu Rodeo 2WD (some assembly required). "If it doesn't fit....Force it!! If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyway."

Ah, yes. I know where Colton is. Driven through there many times on the way to Lewiston. So, I can leave the manual hubs locked and shift out of 4wd and it won't hurt anything?

That would be it. If you look closely on your way home, you should be able to find the Pup.

Yes. It just spins the front drive train. It is just like not unlocking the auto hubs. You can shift between 2wd and 4wd as needed because the front and rear driveshafts are spinning the same speed.

Good Luck,
Michael

Hey, I put manual hubs on my Trooper in 1993 or 1994, haven't even owned the trooper since 1999, and I still have the old autohubs out in the garage.

Catfuzz, they are yours for shipping, but remember, I took them off because they didn't always work offroad

Thanks for the offer Jeff, but I have a few months until I need to replace the hubs, so I'll just get the manual Superwinch hubs. I'm not an off-road type of guy (yet), the 4wd is usually only for snowy streets. The Rodeo is pretty much the family car so when we replace it in a couple years, it will be my new toy, THEN I can go mess around off-roading.
