With much thanks for Onebadtroopers hard work, we got my new tie rod shields fabbed up and installed yesterday along with my new front shocks. They are pretty beefy! Here are some pics: ![[Linked Image]](http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/4/web/424000-424999/424221_389_full.jpg)

Look real good. You have to reposition the shock any? Need an alignment?

No, didn't have to reposition, which is one of the reasons we went with the Edelbrocks. They mount in an upside down fashion out of the box compared to other shocks so there is no rubbing.

And Mike yeah we didn't have to worry about the shocks. The edlebrocks are made to be upside down, so the shaft of the shock is at the bottom .

No offense, as I think it looks really good, but why not support our own vendor and just buy a set for DOR? I would like to think that DOR, although, not legally(that I know of) would have the patent on these.
Just curious. We say we need an aftermarket, but when we copy their ideas, it sort of defeats the purpose.

Steve Well, I totally see where you are comming from. But first off let me say that the shields project was already in motion before I even found out that DOR sold them. It is a logical idea that anybody could come up with. And to be honest if I had the funds right now I would have at that point purchased them from DOR and supported a vendor in a heartbeat. But as a student, my money is tight and could be used elsewhere, so I opted to get my own fabbed for a 1/4 of the cost that the DOR ones are. The DOR ones are awesome, and look BEAUTIFUL, and I sure wish I could have afforded them, but I just couldn't right now... In my opinion, it is no different with people custom fabbing bumpers/bullbars, when there are plenty on the market for us to choose from. Why do we do it? Because if we have the skills too, or another way, it is cheaper and alot more fun.
