Ahh yes, the picture that is brought up every time chevy lowering shackles are used. I don't know what kind they are that failed, but mine are of a completely different design.
Looke at the distance between the leaf spring bolt and where the shackle is reinforced. Its like they used one that was longer than normal.
On mine the reinforcement starts right away. There is no long gap inbetween. Not the best pic, but you get the idea.

Yes yours look better. If it were mine I would put another brace on the front side of the shackle, but if you are comfortable with it it doesn't look all that shady as is.
