Ahh yes, the picture that is brought up every time chevy lowering shackles are used. I don't know what kind they are that failed, but mine are of a completely different design.
Looke at the distance between the leaf spring bolt and where the shackle is reinforced. Its like they used one that was longer than normal.
On mine the reinforcement starts right away. There is no long gap inbetween. Not the best pic, but you get the idea.

Yes yours look better. If it were mine I would put another brace on the front side of the shackle, but if you are comfortable with it it doesn't look all that shady as is.

Keep up the good work. The 'runna is lookin' sweet!

Hey your runner looks great btw.

Is this even a Toyota? It looks like it's a jeep or something.

I have had that double shackle set up on my truck for over 4 years with out any problem. I have wheeled it as hard as the IFS would let me.

Here is why I posted the above:

Could really ruin a fun wheeling trip!

I have to double shackle too but mine is using the chevy shackle on the stock shackle hanger and the 8" shackle is tied in it.

It works fine so far. I haven't had it unload on me either like some people have said happens.
I took it down some real steep sand pit slopes this weekend without issue.

That pic looks like a cherokee to me with the fuel tank in the back. Leave it to a Jeep for something to break.

are your rear shock mounts bolt on? did you make them yourself? that would be an easy solution for me instead of welding a shock perch on.

The Shock mounts are Welded to the crossmember that holds the gas tank up. The lower ones came with the U-bolt flip kit from ROCKSTOMPER
I specified them to run like this: /\

I know there have been some bad things said about Downey, however I would HIGHLY recommend this REAR SINGLE/DOUBLE SHOCK ôTRAVEL KITö they sell to relocate the rear shocks! I had it on a '94 DX, single shock set up and I relocated the shocks to the rear of the axle. They system is a simple install.

Downey Rear Shock 'Travel Kit'

Just my opinion!
