While doing even more research I see that some of my confusion is that the 2wd DI is listed at 18/23 while the 4wd DI is 17/21.

Are the 4wd components that much heavier, or is that the mileage when it is actually in 4wd?

1996 Rodeo - 3.2L, 5sp., ARB Bull Bar, Rancho 9000x, Eclipse sound
2004 Rodeo - 3.5L DI, Auto
