As noted in another thread, I am paying US$3.70/USgal, and most European counties are paying more than that (even before the hurricane). Don't whinge about the price of gas when yours is the cheapest (by country) outside the Middle East...............



Gary, perhaps so. But the MAIN reason why your gas is more expensive is due to the tax YOUR government places on gasoline.

In OZ it's nearly $1.00 (USD) tax PER gallon. In the U.S. the combined federal/state tax averages about $.40 (USD) per gallon. That's the main reason why our gas is cheaper.

In the UK it's over $2.82 (USD) per gallon in tax alone.

So yea...we still reserve the right to complain. And if you don't like the price of gas in OZ you can always fuss to your leaders. Good luck. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" />
