I don't but I'm in my local collages automotive program and they have a ton of expensive tools I can use in there shop.

Sorry for that, last 2 days were insane.
Yesterday my father came by the shop (it was his birthday) and we got drunk after work.
And today i just got home an hour ago.

According to Alldata & Mitchell, and from personal experience with a 1998 Honda Passportà there may be two things wrong at the same time û (1) a clogged fuel filter, and/or, (2) a faulty fuel pump.

Whatever the case, itÆs definitely a fuel delivery problem.

Well at school today I had some extra time to look over my car some with there tools. First I checked for an IMG leak or vacuum leak, they have a machine that makes smoke and pumps it into a vacuum line specifically to check for vacuum leaks. Found no vacuum leaks. So guess my IMG is fine.

Then I started using there scan tool and went through AllData's checks for the bank 2 senor 2 lean code but didn't have time to finish. I can get the freeze frame data if that would mean an thing to any one.

Alldata and Mitchell are what I have access to at school. My fuel filter is new as of less then 2k miles ago. So pump maybe.... any one know how I can check that?

Have we agreed that I have one or two plugged/partially plugged cats and that that is the derivability problem but now we are trying to find out what is causing the cats to plug up? Cuz its odd that these codes and noticeable symptoms only happen after the cat seems like it is plugged up. Also that would make it hard to tell if I fixed the problem or not.

Almost to bad my IMG isn't bad cuz I was looking forward to having it off so I could get a good fuel pressure regulator vacuum line on and changing the thermostat and put new gaskets in.

Huh? How does that work. There is almost no way to ensure the entire intake is air tight. Even then you are pushing pressure the wrong way. Depending on the break in the gasket, it may only be able to leak under a vaccum.

Without knowing more, I would not put much faith in the magic smoke machine. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

It has a tapered nozzle, that fits vacuum lines of various sizes, on the end of a hose that it pumps smoke through. So I disconnected the vacuum line for front axle shift actuators before the check valve and connected it there and pumped it full of smoke and the only place smoke came out was the air cleaner box.

Not sure what else you need to know about it. I would try checking it with starter fluid or propane but I would likely blow myself up or set my car on fire.

If you have access to fuel pressure gage, go on AllData & follow the diagnostic tree for code 1171. It will tell you exactly how to test the fuel pump. Even if the pump has the required 41-47 psi @ adle it may not have the volume (you know when on TV they say 45 galons per hour or 60 galons per hour @ specified pressure that's the volume).

Your cat's may be going bad because of the constant lean mixture under load.

Ya, I have access to a fuel pressure gage at school. It will be either Tuesday or Thursday before I can bring it in again.
