If you have access to fuel pressure gage, go on AllData & follow the diagnostic tree for code 1171. It will tell you exactly how to test the fuel pump. Even if the pump has the required 41-47 psi @ adle it may not have the volume (you know when on TV they say 45 galons per hour or 60 galons per hour @ specified pressure that's the volume).

Your cat's may be going bad because of the constant lean mixture under load.
