I just noticed the Erie PA... Do you wheel anywhere near there? We have a cottage into NY at Findlay Lake. I have been looking for a place to go on weekends.

Also, for your future bone yarding, try Car-Part.com.

I haven't really got a chance to wheel anywhere yet. If I run into group, then I can pass along the info. I know we have a "Mud Mushers", but I don't know of a trail driving group.

I frantically held off the new assembly. Way cheaper. I called a couple salvage yards. I thought I was in the going to save some mullah!

But the one place pulled it off the truck, and it was all rusted also. I called my brother-in-law who's a mechanic, and he said don't mess with salvage yard fuel pumps. The have been sitting for so long, they can be "dirty" and fail. He recalled a job where he replaced a salvage assembly, and the pump failed. So it had to be replaced again.

So, I'm comfortable with the repair costs until I read this....

...he states the sending unit is $62.50 and the pump is $491 Part numbers-sending unit MB571603- Pump is MR208665
....

Wow, that's helpful. I didn't know you could purchase the sending unit separately. I'll have to confirm evertything if every thing needs replaced. Hopefully, I can talk to my mechanic before he picks it up.
