I highly doubt you can build a respectable 'bag system for anywhere near the price of a basic lift. And the longer coils + spacers rear; t-bar crank + bj flip and spacers front is a tried and true way of giving Troopers more altitude. As for the 912's, different people like different spring rates to achieve the height and ride characteristics they desire. The 912's are a popular choice for sure; but I know people have used other OME springs as well. The nice thing about coil suspensions is that ride height can be fine-tuned without further affecting the spring rate, by using spacers.
