I don't know if there is anybody on this board running that combo. I'd bet that all small block V-8's with stock carbed fuel systems in a Toyota 4x4 would get roughly the same mileage. Provided that they were in good tune and mechanically sound. My guesstimate would be 14 mpg hwy and 12 around town. -- Matt

Kinda late on the post but I got 18mpg doing 70mph but that was when I had 4.10's. Mine is EFI with the Ford AOD trans, for a wheeler I wouldn't use a carb. I think with the 5.29's I'll do just as good because the engine isn't working as hard to keep up the speed. I'll let you know what I end up with if your still interested <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

5.29's and a V8 wow. what size tires are you running 44's? lol. that would be some serious torque. i can almost hear the driveline parts snapping.

the problem with 5.29s is that a rig with most typical v8s likes to run a lot lower RPMs than say a 22R. where a 22R likes to run about 3000 at 65mph, you maybe only want to run 2200-2500 at that speed with a 302 in most cases.
