Why do you need a letter? I just took mine to the dealer and told them I needed the recall done. They looked up the VIN, put the truck on a hoist to see if they needed to order the tie rods as well as the relay rod, and scheduled me for a few days later. There is no need for a letter as it all goes by the VIN code anyways. They thought they would need to replace the tie rods (due to rusty threads I guess??), but they ended up only replacing the relay rod. The whole thing was very easy. On the downside, my truck had never been aligned in 218,000 miles as far as I know and yet drove perfectly straight with no uneven tire wear. After the new rod and alignment, the steering wheel is crooked and it drifts left . I don't know if I should take it back and *****, or just re-align it myself after work. It will take me an hour or so, but at least it will be done right. Another weird thing is that I asked him to look up my VIN for previous warranty/recall work so I could see exactly what mileage the head gaskets and timing belt was replaced and the computer showed that my truck had never had any work done to it. I bought it at 150k and the previous owner said the recall work was done 20-30k prior. If I would have known it never got entered, I could have had them do the head gasket recall again before the campaign ended and gotten a cheap water pump and timing belt job done. Oh well, it looks like I'll have to do it myself. I think I have about 90-100k on the belt
