You should be able to just unbolt the 'transfer case' lump that sticks out of your front gearbox... and fabricate a simple cover plate to seal in the juice. No cutting required!

Are your back-seat passengers willing to shift gears for ya? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />

Have you double-checked the width of the darn thing? Might be tight, and you'll need to watch rear driveshaft angle, as well.

All that said, sounds like a fun budget project! Post up pictures as you progress!
