I didn't realize they were making the stretch version (I'm old--it's the scrambler to me) in the Rubicon model. Cool.

I've you're getting it primarily for it's 4x4 capability, why did you go with the longer wheelbase version?

The good news is (for the longer run) there's rumors Jeep is finally going to replace that 4.0 they've had for years. Diesel and a DOHC (or both) are being tossed about; basicly something more caught up with 1980's technology. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" /> (non-pushrod)

Upside: more power, probably torque, and better gas mileage in a smaller (lighter) engine.
Downside: There's a big mod/aftermarket for the current engine and spare parts galore.

Of course, diesel would be great.

I'm too lazy (and on too slow a connection) to go through Jeeps graphics/flash intensive site--are they using the 4.0 on the Unlimited's, or did they drop a different engine in there?
