I bought a 94 Jeep wrangler. It was modified from a 2.5 to a 4.2L. The guy said he did not get the fuel, speedometer, or tach rewired. An MSD ignition box was installed. I started in yesterday trying to hook up these gauges. The original 2.5 L gauges are still there. The fuel gauge worked for a few minutes, then quit. I can't get the speedo or tach to work. Can anyone share simple thoughts on what I need to do? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for the link which has contains some good information. However, can anyone tell me if I can use the stock gauges in my 94 wrangler since I changed the engine from 2.5L to 4.2L? That could be why the fuel, tach & speedo don't work when I hook them up?

I cannot think of a reason why not.. Surely the senders all send the same signals to the guages.

where's the grounding strap? maybe it needs some new grounds installed here and there and under the dash.
