One man's rebuilt is not positively the next man's! Give all details of the rebuild... What about the head? Did you rebuild it COMPLETLY? Was the block bored and NEW pistons installed? The oil goes away from the valve guides and the rings.. A rebuild of all the other parts will allow the engine to last lonmger but will not stop the burning of oil. If the old pistons were used the type of rings used is of upmost importance.. HARD CHROME rings will burn oil in this instance for maybe 30,000 miles?
