That is what I did. I used two rear stock brake lines to extend it. Cheap...yeah...Does it work yeah. Safe...I think so. I took up the extra slack with small zip ties making one small circles . So if it extends pass my preset it would either brake the zip tie or pull on it some. Keep it away from your springs...so it doesn't get pinched in between the leafs.
Here is a pick...look on the right by the rear leaf.
