I searched the archives but found no answer to the following question(s). I apologize in advance if this has been posted somewhere but I just didn't find it.
Last weekend I was forced to make an unplaned "modification" to a certain exhaust component until I can afford a new part. Anyway, I reinstalled the catalytic converter using a new rear flange gasket but was unable to find a new gasket for front of the converter-to exhast-pipe. My truck uses a dougnut gasket here (OEM exhaust as far as I know). Every place I've been comes up with the same number for the gasket at that point but it always turns out to be a flange gasket (60496-1 -> I typically found this to be a FelPro item). On my exhaust the bolt flanges do not ever come into contact. Spring type bolts (thingies??) are used at this location. Has anyone ever had this problem? I haven't tried the dealer yet but would appreciate that part number also as a last resort. I've tried NAPA, Westwood Auto Parts, Advance, and even Auto Zone. NAPA surprisingly had the most limited selection of part numbers listed. The guys at Advance have ordered every part number listed for me to check tomorrow and see if one of them is the right one.
I still haven't totally nailed down what made my truck start stalling when I let off the accellerator at speed while disengaging the clutch (coming up on a stop or downshift for turn. The idle was horrible all of the sudden. I tried reading the codes but there were none. The "modification" I made helped a bit but the idle is still poor. It might be the ISC maybe methinks?
I would be grateful for any help anybody can provide. Thanks in advance.

Do you have the 1989 Parts Manual? If not, ask around someone can get you a copy.
The 1989 Parts Manual lists a "Gasket, Exhaust Pipe" MB514706. From the diagram, this gasket sits between the rear of the catalytic converter and the center section of exhaust pipe.
