Bob, I will throw my $.02 in. Where we will, Lockers are nice, but I don't have one yet, and haven't found a place I actually NEEDED it. Sure there are obsticles that I choose to avoid because I don't have it, but I haven't been limited on a trail due to a locker. There are trails I won't go on that require a locker, but they also are high probability of body damage on those trails.
The Tera Low's, and have been very happy with them. Unlike a locker, the Lows help in almost every situation. You get to go down hills slower(which when you have steps or ledges comes in very handy) You get to crawl a little slower uphill, which is never a bad thing.
Although a locker is very nice, I have found that in our conditions for wheeling, traction usually isn't an issue. We don't have a lot of mud, and the loose rock we get is offset by larger rocks. If we had more mud, I would say the locker, but due to hill climbs, and traction we get I would say Tera Low's.

Bob, I have lockers, tera's and a second t case. The lockers are by far the best because they keep traction in loose situations. The low gears are nice for not stalling out and going slower, but even with the low gears, if I don't lock the arb's I get stuck spinning tires, Then I take it out of 4 lo in the case with the tera's and just use stock 4 lo and lockers to get unstuck. So since I can choose between tera's and stock, I choose lockers as the best for what I have encountered.

If you intend on wheeling it rather frequently in Utah trading it in for a Rubicon Unlimited would be your top priority. No actaully that's an inside Zutah club joke. Sliders are top priority unless you can care less about body damage because you'll get plenty of it no matter how good of a driver you are. If you have an Auto Trans I would go with the Tera-Lows due to the lack of ability to back up over obstacles. If you have a manual I would go with a locker (rear locker, that is unless you can find a selectable front locker). You know oddly enough I happened to have 2 sets of sliders (one DOM 2" x .120 & one 2" square) about 90% completed that just the other day I was telling someone that I would be willing to give them away, but then again I would have to actually meet you. Being that this hasn't happened in the 3 years that I have known of your exsistence they will probably be still sitting in my garage come winter.

Being that this hasn't happened in the 3 years that I have known of your exsistence they will probably be still sitting in my garage come winter. Well, I wouldn't want to be caught fraternizing with the (newly turned) enemy. But seriously, I really regret not being able to hang out and wheel more often, but my schedule over the last two years really hasn't given me any weekends off, or much time at all for that matter. I did make it to zuzu this year on a last minute decision, which I of course don't regret. As for those of you who asked about the tires, I've been pretty happy with them so far. I'm not shy about abusing them (warranty) and apart from one really wierd puncture in the bead, under the rim on the INSIDE facing sidewall, no problems. They are a soft compound like the [moderator edit] Goodyear MT/R's, but they seem to be wearing very well. The soft compound makes them grip tenaciously in the rain and snow, but you can feel the tread squirm in fast corners. The noise level is almost nil below 45mph. On the trail they dig and grip very well. And yes, they look sweet. Great thoughts on my question. Of course I just want both that much more.
