well, got a call at 3am that the cops had it in Bonny Lake, now I gotta see how bad it got beaten.
edit: and there was an arrest according to the police, so I hope it wasn't thrashed in a chase.

Bonney Lake? Hmmm right out there near Graham...go figure. Somebody needs to clue them folks in on life as an adult. Meth Cook and auto stripper are not legitimate careers!
Hope things turn out good for you with the condition of the Runner. Keep in mind that in Washington state, arrest equals restitution....just gotta be enforced is all.

Toyotas are real popular with the a-holes in the PacNW and Kali. That it was recovered that quickly should tell you something--- there's a trend here-----
Hope it isn't torn up too badly, and that you start calling them Ben Dover. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" />
If ya keep it, put a kill system on it. If ya don't keep it, part it out in our for sale section.

Worries me a bit. I have lot's of friends with Yodas around here. I don't think any of us carry full coverage insurance for our wheelin rigs. Most of us are insured by dogs that bite first and ask questions later. To the 12GA guy. You cannot shoot someone stealing your car. Your life HAS to be in mortal danger or you go to prison for manslaughter, sorry. My wife is a lawyer and told me I could only use the Mossberg to scare thiefs not shoot them. (No, shooting off limbs is not allowed either.) Sucks I know. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> Pity the fool who gets caught stripping a truck while we're out wheeling. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/mrt.gif" alt="" />

I asked my insurance agent about increasing the coverage on mine a couple months back and he told me I couldn't do it unless I only drove it like 2000 miles a year or something. Basically told me it was too old.
I didn't ask about full coverage, but don't they go off of blue book value or something? If that is the case my engine alone is worth more than blue book on an 85 Toy.

Shooting a car thief can be legal, it just depends on where you live... Texas for instance comes to mind, deadly force is allowed to prevent most severe felonies in fact. There are other states that have similar laws. Would you steal a truck from someone if you knew they might shoot you to stop you? In most states the most you can do is yell at them... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/statutes/docs/PE/content/htm/pe.002.00.000009.00.htm

I guess you could always stab yourself in the leg with a screwdriver and then shoot the guy. That way it was in self defense... if you know what I mean! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

well, there was some slight front end damage and that was it. most of my stuff (stereo and XM) were still in it, suprisingly enough. he tried to run from the cops, got stuck in a bush in some lady's back yard is all I know right now. gott try and get back some of the other stuff that was in a box in back.
I was really concerned, because I had just chnged the oil, and had to drop the skid plate to get a dropped oil cap. the skid plate was hanging from the tab and front cross brace as he drove off. so I hoped he wouldn't catch the plate on something and twist the brace or frame/steering. I guess he figured it out.
since my manual was in the box, need some help figuring out the blinker issue. now the fronts don't work but the backs do, and they blink about twice as fast as normal. any ideas?
as far as shooting the guy, I'm from TX and we could shoot a car thief, glad to know I can't here. glad I didn't wake up, cause I probably would have, then "set up" the garage...

Sounds like light assembly needs a visual inspection, to include the wiring, most likely. If a bulb/s busted, start there. Could've been a lot worse; you got lucky.
