If it wasn't for the fact that they are all autos my next rig would be a VX, I'v been in love with them since I saw the concept all those years ago.
on the topic of swaping in a 5-speed, no I don't think it would be that hard, jsut need to get ahold of a 5-speed from a 98+ Trooper and I think you'd be in business(mostly, of course there would be a bunch of "little" details to work out to make it work)

if you're so concerned about the vx being an auto and losing performance, don't be. Even bone stock my VX pins me to my seat. Our TC's are locked in everything but 4th gear, and with the power mode button glued down, I wouldn't have it any other way. Plus, there wouldn't be an easy way of getting a manual to co-exist with the TOD, or rigging a clutch in the cab. Theres simply no room for the pedal. As for the "improved" ride quality of the OME springs, lets take our rides around a dirt track and see which one has the better ride quality. (assuming OBT can keep it from going titsup) And if you want to buy one, buy this one: http://www.vehicross.info/forums/showthread.php?t=7620Its got a S/C and a trans-interceptor on it.

don't be. Even bone stock my VX pins me to my seat. Same here, I'm not the one that wanted the manuel trans..I really like the auto, after driving my troop. As for the "improved" ride quality of the OME springs, lets take our rides around a dirt track and see which one has the better ride quality. (assuming OBT can keep it from going titsup) I do think there is WAY BETTER ride quality, over bumps. It used to bottom out all the time on these roads, now its stays planted to the road better, and its easier to control. Its about the same on turns too. Its only lifted 2", its just a firmer ride which I really like. Next I'm going to have to talk her into getting the super _chris

if you're so concerned about the vx being an auto and losing performance It's not a matter of loosing performance, its more of not having as much control over the vehicle. I cant stand autos because I want to choose what gear I'm in and I dont want to wait 1/2 a second for the power band to kick in. Autos can be good, but I love mashing gears

I'v driven autos, and even like my dad's 2003 Tundra, but i'd rather have a stick, just my personal preference!! BTW the supercharged one is owned by Tad over on Planetisuzoo.com

Tad, id totally buy that thing.....provided i was in the market. I love that thing. Even though ive never ridden in it, i heard from the grapeline that it absolutely can haul some tail! Ill be looking for one after my trooper dies...whether I kill it, or it kills itself. Autos can be good, but I love mashing gears Yup yup. I love my 5sp. Its just more fun. I can drive the heck out of my moms Volvo Cross country (Turbocharged 5cyl, auto.) though. Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks i guess. -J

On the subject of being pinned to my seat. I'v driven my dad's 2003 Tundra 4x4 w/4.7 V8, enough to like it and all, even thought it's an auto, that thing is just plain scary IMOP, I'm afraid to floor the thing from a dead stop, just taking it half way gets it moving in a real fast hurry and on Tad's VX, yeah I'v heard the same about it moving FAST, my guess is that with the Supercharger and "other" mods the thing is making 300+hp
