well I noticed that my rear driveshaft wasn't straight inline from the rear end to the tranny, so i started looking into it and found out that my trans/tcase had been pushed to the side. Apparently my front driveshaft isn't long enough and it compressed all the way and pushed the tranny over. Now my question is is the mount broken? As you can see in the pic below when i lifed up the tranny it just comes right up. If the mounts is broken which i think it is, do you have to replace the whole metal assembly that goes around the bottom and bolts the the side with the 2 14mm bolts? I assume yes. here the link so you can see what i've got

Very broken. The mount bolts to the trans and the crossmember. It is not supposed to be a two piece unit.

If that's the case, you're lucky its the mount that broke instead of the tranny busting. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

thanks for the help, now is the trans mount something i can buy from advance or is it going to be something a little more pricey that i've got to get from the dealer or a yard. also a square front shaft is one of the next things i'm going to do so this doesnt' happen again.
Thanks!
Eric

Maybe, yes and yes. Call them. That is the only way you are going to know if your local parts monkey can get it for you. If not, try a yard, but IIRC, it is not the expensive of a part from the dealer.

Good Luck,
Michael

I know you are a member there as well... but have did you see the Square driveshaft causing breakage? post on the PBB? Take home messages I got from that thread:
-don't make the shaft engagement too great
-definitely drill and tap for a few zerk fittings
-maybe zip-tie a long shock boot on there to help keep the crud out???
-possible benefit from painting both gliding surfaces with some of that 'slick' graphite paint people use on spring packs???

[standard disclaimer]the PBB has a lot of vulgar language and images randomly strewn about... peruse the site at your own risk[/sd]

I had not seen that post till now. most of the posts i've been looking at were saying only good things about them and how to make them. i def agree with you did and the post made a good point that i will keep in mind and that is keeping it greased with the serks as well as paint.

If you've got the ability to cut & weld, a near bullet-proof mount isn't all that hard to make:
