Took it apart.....NOTHING. I gave everything a real good look with a flashlight down in there. I couldn't find anything. I know it was smoke inside there because that's where it came from and the top was hot. I reconnected the battery today and everything is fine. It's very strange. Take a look ![[Linked Image]](http://www.lesjackson.com/skylarcrawl.jpg) My baby girl.

Because the Blower resistor gets very hot under normal operation, once the load resistor coils get old (or trash gets on them) the resistance shoots up and will burn the plastic ect around it. They are bolted into the air ducting so the airflow from the blower will cool it. Thus the smoke ect will be distributed through the vents. OK, now I see the thought process. Thanks for clarifying that! Eric

Those gauge pictures look rather amazing. No where near as much as that last pic, though...

I guess the next thing to do is test operate all controls. Try to remember everything that was on. Mitsu uses alot of ground switched circuits, so a low amp short to ground can be hidden easily. There are also alot of relays for wiper timing and hazard and signal flashers in the left kick panel and behind the fuse block. BTW Les, Is there no dirt in that Montero at all?? even the anti rattle foam on the main cluster connector looks new. She's getting big!!! It's amazing how fast they grow.
