I noticed the other day that a gas station 10 minutes from my apt sells E85 and its only $1.90!

Sure beats gas around here... $2.75 for 87 octane <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" />

I know the 3.0L will burn it without major issues. I don't know about the 3.5L.

Do you have any idea as to where I could find out?

Neither engine is listed as being E85 compatable. I've never owned a 3.5L so I don't know where to go to find out what it'll run on.

I can say from my own experience that a 3.0L will run on just about anything that is combustable as long as there is more gasoline in it than whatever else you run.

I did have minor issues when I ran 65% alcohol in it. It would hiccup and turn on the check engine lamp.

I've run very high percentages of diesel fuel. Something like 50% or maybe a little more. Ran great on that.

Wish I had a definate answer for you with your engine, ubt I don't.

Body Damage is Cool
Like Clay said they are not listed as compatable. You know where the label in the gas door says "Unleaded Fuel only"?
Vehicles that are E85 compatable have "Unleaded or ethanol fuels only" The E85 is cheaper but my wifes car FFV Taurus states that it gets less fuel milage on it, approx 6 mpg less. Take into account the price difference, you are not gaining much. Besides if the motor is not prepared for Ethanol, I would think it would suffer detonation (preignition, bad) The Misu knock system may not be able to retard the ign timing enough to prevent possible valve/ piston damage, but you never know.
Maybe some of the chemists around here can confirm or deny my assessment. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />

In the city yes.
