Thanks for comments. I added one bottle of the cd2 to the oil (new Chevron Supreme 40W) and ran the Monte off and on for a couple hours over a couple days; it just smoked really bad the whole time so I drained it. I have heard about Shell Rotella and similar diesel type high detergent oils and agree it probably is worth a try before reringing it which is probably the inevitable solution. Thanks again for your help and advice.
