gr. cherokee - window on the back door should open, but doesn't, because one of the two compression style contraptions on either side of the window won't extend. What the heck is it called?

I think it's called a lift gate support shock. Ours went bad and I got a new one from these guys. http://www.jeep4x4center.comGood luck on getting it fixed. That thing can really bonk ya in the head. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/drunk.gif" alt="" />
