Need a Spot
I own a 85 toyota 22r. i just was wondering if i could fix my leaky hubs on my own with not having to take it in to someone. is there anything that i need to know as far as the extent of work? my truck has the manual lock type hubs.
thanks

Get a hub rebuild kit, replaces the seals and bearings and all that good stuff. My hubs were in pretty bad condition when i first got much truck, the "fluid" leaked out of them when it was jacked, bad knuckle bearings. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Not very hard to do either.

That's one thing I loved about my Aisin hubs. very well designed to keep water out. I'm not sure about my D44 hubs... design kinda worries me. I'm gonna pull my hubs tomorrow to check for water as a precaution. praying theres no water in there.
