Also, the Gen Is are taller as a whole versus the Gen IIs.

I'll bet that if you're willing to do some fab-work you could shave 1, perhaps 2 inches off the height of the Gen I frame.

Probably. If I needed low profile, I'd go Gen II and figure out spacers to even out the mounts.

Depending on the local yards, Gen Is can be not hard to find. On the Gen IIs, I wish there were more around me to look at. Mine came off a 92 SR. I'm wondering if the older SRs maybe came with them in general.

You'd be amazed at how many non-Mitsu people with Monteros don't know they have bouncy seats. My brother had his 89 LWB for two years and never knew. And I'd hazard to guess that the vast, vast, majority of Gen II owners have little clue about the truck and it's roots. As such, they could have the bouncies and not know what they are about, hence when you see one for sale in Autotrader, they never list the seats.

Just a thought...

What model/trim level 95?

I don't know, it has power every thing, but the pic didn't show up, so I can't tell if it's a SR or an LS.

Most gen II's are Power Everything.

The SR's (94, 95, & 96) come with a locking rear differential which is a critical upgrade for off roading use.

If he's talking about the 5-speed one he mentioned, it will not be an SR. (ATs only, Rez, on the SRs.)

I have bouncy seats in my Montero and my Blazer. If you rig has flat floor boards, they are easy to install. You will probably have to drill some holes and fab up some re-inforcment. LT and the boys can help you with this project. I am pretty sur we scrounged up all the bouncy's from the local yards out there. I did give one to JohnnyB before I moned to OKC. Oop's was I not supposed to tell.

StockRaider,
If the passenger is your wife or girlfriend, without a bouncy seat for her, you won't get screwed.

rezkid, better not let the rabid isuzu diehards see this post or the bouncy seat wont save your .
btw, ive got the bouncies on both front seats... and theyre mirrior images of each other. i do think there is a slight down side to them however, sometimes when im wheelin' ill lock mine down. just because the rides soft doesnt mean the terrain is... it helps to keep me mindful of what im driving through and most importantly it helps me keep my foot out of the gas .

Well I got an e-mail back from the owner. She's had it since 2000, it recently had the belts, hoses, shocks and tires replaced, and she droped the price down for a quick sale too!
...
well the owner just called me as I was writting this so i'll add what I know.
the current owners bought it off of a doctor down in PHX in 2000, mainly to drive up to their cabin in Payson. The most offroad it has been is graded fire roads, so pretty much nill. it's an LS, and the owner's husband took it down to Tucson last month and got 20+mpg with the new tires. most of the 134,000 have been city driving, and a bit of highway driving from Phx to Payson.
This is looking to be a pretty good deal, i'll have to look it over some more, but I think you may end up with another Mitsu owner here on the 'Wire And I'll forever be banned from the Isuzu forum as a traitor!!!

excellent... your transition to the darkside is almost complete (used in leiu of lord vader icon). its all good... i think the isuzu cats are down with us, after all were not heeps . pull the trigger on the purchase and then we can officially welcome you . btw, 130k seems like the magic number for stem seals (at least on gen I's) so let it idle for about 10/15 minutes and punch it and check for smoke. if its does blow smoke and your me it will only take you about 2 months to fix it .
