Yes, some filters do not hold the oil in. I have used FRAM for many years and if I'm not mistaken, it does hold the oil in or at least that's how it looks like when I try to drain it and nothing comes out, and still I get the clattering. I tried Slick 50 and another additive 'cause they said it clings on the the metal parts, but the problem was not solved.
