Miss Kathy and I were sitting at the dinner table last night, when somehow the subject of my future SAS project came-up (SHE started it this time... HONEST!)...

Anyway, out-of-the-blue, like I had never even mentioned it before, she asked me:
ôWhat-all is involved in doing that anyhow?ö

So, I told herà
And as the words rolled out of my mouth, her eyes got bigger, and Bigger, and BIGGERà

IÆm pretty sure sheÆd already stopped listening before I got to the part about welding on the spring hangers. --- I canÆt wait to show her those photos!

Hind-sight is 20/20... but explaining a project to the lady who will ultimately be giving you permission to undertake it is not the time to be excessively wordy. Try a minimalistic approach so that the process sounds quick, cheap, and easy:

her-> "What all does a SAS involve anyway?"

you-> "Oh, you just cut off the IFS and weld in some metal to attach springs to. Then you simply put the springs and axle in place and set-up the steering." (words like 'just, some, and simply' are key to use)

her-> "When you explain it like that, I can't say no. Take me you fabrication genius, take me now!"

As always, your results may vary

My approach is:

Her-> "why do you want to do this SAS thing"

Me->" you know all those weekends I spend under the truck fixing things so I can drive to work on Monday? Well I want to replace all those little parts that break, with big strong parts so that we can spend more time together."

As stated above, results may vary

Oh, and the truck is looking good

Whatever you do, DON'T say that you're basically removing the steering, brakes, and suspension to turn your truck into a trailer that doesn't work very well... and that from there, you'll be adding suspension, steering, and brakes back on to try to make it work better than before.

Yeah - Results may vary, INDEED!

Actually, IÆm one of the lucky onesà
Kathy really doesnÆt care what I do to the Rodeo û she never hasà Just so long as my æHoney-Do Dance CardÆ is punched and up-to-date, I can modify that thing 10-ways from Sunday (fundage permitting).

I believe last night was more of an inquiry to satisfy her (brief and soon regretted) curiosity.

Keep up the good work!
