Well, I finally sold my Trooper. But that doesn't mean it's really gone. One of my best friends bought it and he has been wheeling it pretty hard. And guess who gets to help do the repairs. Yours truely. It seems that the passenger side, lower ball joint is now bad. I have never had any ball joints replaced on this truck. Is it hard to do? Will I have to remove the entire spindle? Axle? I searched, but it seems most everything was about the upper ball joint flip.
You guys haven't gotten rid of me that easy though. I really like this group of guys here on the wire. And thought I would stick with Isuzu because of it. So now, I think I am looking for an old Isuzu Pickup to build. Can't stop building! Always have to have a project sitting around. If anyone on the east coast has an old pickup for sale, cheap. Send me an email. No engine or much drivetrain required. Can even be 2 wheel drive. Thanks, Charles

never done a lower bj, but every once in a while you can find package deals on ebay w/ uppers, lowers and TRE's for pretty cheap.
good luck finding a p'up. There was one in the FS section a month or so ago for like $400 but I dont remember where it was.

From the looks of your write up, both the top and lower ball joint will have to come loose to be able to get it out. Will I need to disassemble the hubs for this? Your write up was really great, thanks. I just don't know how much of it I need to do, since I am not trying to get to my cv boots. Thanks, Charles

you need to undo the clips to let your cv axles out of your hubs. Then you need to remove that castle nut on the ball joint. Then you need to beat the bag out of the BJ to get it out of the knuckle.
