Getting the Wheeling Fever

please anyone with any know how on this subject
i was pumping gas today (at 3.19 GAL) when i saw grease in my wheel well on the drives side i looked closer and there it was the cv boot was riped (now my ? is replace the whole shaft or just the quick fix boot

how long and how hard is it to do what kinda tools and ect.... anything to look for when i tear in to it like bearings or andthing do i need to pack them or anything like that thakx guy;s and gal;s i have a 89 toy v6 4x4 79000mils thanx for all the help JOe
