Yea I got a 2004 just like the one you're looking to get. 2004 Dbl. Cab, Auto, V6, TRD Package and as far as room goes not much in the bed but if you're like me and get a bed extender then there's no problem. Lots of room in the back and easily fit 3 people or two extra large ones. I'm a freediver on the weekends and bed holds all my equipment plus spear guns, floats, and equpiment of my other 2 dive partners. Clothes, backpacks, towles, cooler and other stuff in the rear seat area no problems.
I really don't like the 2005 because of the increase in size and weight. More power and bigger size may be an advantage for the 2005 but with the higher gas prices I'm glad I got the 2004 when I did instead of waiting for the 2005. Otherwise I'd get a 2005 but I think the trend is going to go the other way now (smaller, compact, better gas milage) instead of progresive like they are doing now (bigger, more power, larger engines and less efficient on gas). I've been told the RAV4 is going to be redesigned for 2006 by getting bigger and wider with an upgraded and more powerful V6.
