These photos won't hold a candle to DirtyHarry's Hawaii pics or Hiker's scenery shots, but regardless I thought I would share a few from last weekend's paddling trip. We packed our camping gear in the boats and headed about four hours up the coast of a local bay and spent one night. The weather forecast was uncertain so we had the water and the beaches to ourselves. The weather turned out to be perfect, sans a brief period of 28 kt winds and some whitecaps that gave the girls and mattie-dog a scare. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" />

P.S. Stow your wine at the bottom of the kayak's storage compartment (below the waterline) and it will be chilled the perfect serving temperature!

Who sucks? KEN sucks. Seriosly, that looks like a lot of fun. A kayak is on my list of things to buy one of these days...

If I still fit my kayak, I would use it... kinda out grew it in high school, sadly. Trying to cram 6'5" in an Aquaterra Spectrum S just doesn't really work... last time I tried it, I went for one of those unintended swims you mentioned. Sand Harbor in Tahoe is very nice to look at, but a bit on the chilly side if you aren't planning on being in it.

If Ken had finished growing to full adult height, he would have trouble finding a kayak, too. At least I have sense enough to keep my truck!

I manage to borrow one from somebody from time to time, but I have to hang my legs over the front and off to the side. I'm sure it looks quite curious... At 6'6" and 270lbs, I should probably buy a rowboat instead of a kayak.
