No need for that tall a stand, Harbor Freight has some around 30" tall. I use some a little shorter than that. I made a base out of criss-crossed 2x4s the sixe of the jack stand base. 2 boards across and 3 vertical:

Raises them up about 3" and is plenty tall. Also helps keep the stands from sinking into my asphalt driveway.

My rear axle will basically drop to the ground (w/ tires off of course) w/ 5.5" Alcan springs and longer than stock shackles.

For taller stands, you could fab up your own or make a taller base for them.
