Hafa Adai all,

Thinking of relocating my family to Houston TX. Need info regarding housing location/schools/cost of living etc..etc..

Also what can I expect in the autmotive world? Is it a smog check state? Car insurance expensive? Are used first gen Zu's available? Price ranges? Is Rust a big player? etc. etc...

Should I ship my Zu's (95 rodeo/'92 p-up) or start over. As most of you all know I have alot of work done into the p-up and it looks like if I don't ship it, I'll have to take off all the goodies and find another one to play with.

TIA!

Ton

cool, Here in texas you don't really have to worry about rust. I'm not sure about the cost of living, but here in dallas you can get pretty big homes for cheap compared to other places. And yeah theres alot of used first gens

Texas has a lot of trucks in general...and I'm guessing you are already used to heat and humidity and the occasional hurricane/typhoon

Well, I don't care for Houston too much, but you are looking at about $75 a square foot to build on average. I got my house in Dallas for $42 a square, so that isn't too bad. If I had to compare, cost of living is much less than Denver, Chicago, New York, LA and stuff like that. There are cheaper and more espensive places to live. MAke sure you move close to where you work is my best advice. THere are tons of first gens around here. You can pick up a trooper in good shape for $2000 or less, depending on condition.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the info fella's. I do get to own a gun now right?

I do plan on living close to work, but that depends if I can afford it...

Are there any race tracks in the area? Motocross/Drag/Offroad etc...

I gots to move there I just sold all my guns , the laws here suck , you need a licence to buy ammo and just to keep them , then they close all the ranges down , and make it a pain to try and go shooting

You just have to love seeing a kid shooting guns wearing a Bush-Cheney t-shirt

In Colorado we get to shoot people breaking into our houses (make my day law). I have 2 rifles, a shotgun, a pistol, and 2 pellet guns. Havent shot anyone though.

If Canada didnt waste all that money on the gun registry you guys might still have a health care system.
