Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have a 92 pickup with the 3.0 and when its cold it wont start. I have replaced the cold start injecter switch, ecu temp sensor, cap, roter, plugs and wires. it wont even fire when its cold, you have to roll stert it, but when it warms up it runs fine and will start again until it completly cools back down

Body Damage is Cool
Does the engine turn over, or appear dead for the roll start to kick in?

Well, you need 3 things for an engine to start.
Fuel, air, and spark.

You know, if your battery is *dead*, i.e. obviously wont start.

BUT, I just experianced this at work today, and baffled the CRAP out of me. Sounds like whats going on to you.

A car came in today, a 97 Chevy Cavalire(sp?)..anyways, it was a no-start problem. It was cranking, cranking, cranking like there was no tomarrow. I checked for fuel, and air. It was there, but I didn't even bother checking for spark because the engine was cranking, and normal speed to that.

Well, after checking the ECU, sensors galor, checking thing after thing, I got frustrated, NOTHING was wrong with it! But, it still wouldn't start!

Well, I threw the battery charger on it just for kicks and giggles, then went to lunch, and figured that I'll try and figure it out when I got back.

Well, I came back, and with the charger on the battery I cranked it over, and BAM, it started right up!

The problem was, the battery had plenty of Cranking amps to crank that little 4-banger over...it only needs anywhere from 50-125 Cranking amps at the most...well, so, it doesn't need that much power to *CRANK OVER*

Well, turns out, once it was cranking, there wasn't enough VOLTS to power the fuel pump, ecu, sensors ect...

I charged the battery, and sent off the car. It started right up about 10 different times. I told them to check back in tomarrow and see if the battery holds a charge.

So, after my long stoooory...
You might want to check your battery, just for kicks and giggles, put a charger on it tonight, and see if it starts up tomarrow...

Just a thought, it baffled the crap outta' me, maybe that could possibly be your problem...

Good luck! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

How dirty is your intake?
Gas from the CSI will never make it passed a dirty, carboned up plenum & intake.
A dirty intake will act like a sponge.

...check it out
