Getting the Wheeling Fever

Just picked up an 83 for real cheap that im going to use for my SAS and stuff my question is I was wondering if a 3rd member out of the 83 would work in my 86 both being 4.10's. I thought I heard the the bolt pattern for the drive shaft flange was drilled differntly??? Is that true or could I pop a 3rd member off the 83 and bolt it right into my 86 rear? Thanks guys Stinson
