I wonder if the process whereby they make GDTs is not proprietary, but is instead available to anyone who possesses the cash to buy the rights to manufacture the tires that way. That would account for the differences in tire tread, but the presence of the GD grains in both tires.

What do you think? The idea of having different sidewalls on my truck may have put me off of these for now. I'm pretty sure that if I went to GDT, they'd get me identical sidewalls. Failing that, I'm back to my original plan - Kumho Ventures or Dunlop Rovers.
