Success!

I replaced my T belt, water pump and tensioner. The hardest part of the task was getting the power steering (PS) pump out of the way.

I have the Helms Inc. manuals, but the procedure is not so good and the PS pump shown is not the same as the one on my rig. The one shown has a nut on the pulley, mine is pressed on. I had to remove three bolts that hold the bracket to the engine block. To get to the two on the drivers side I had to remove the air conditioner condensor. Additionally, the one bolt on the front of the PS pump was a PITA to get to through the holes in the pulley.

The T belt installation diagrams and description are confussing and if you follow the procedure your likely to get the cam timing and crank timing screwed up. What I did was align the cam and crank timing indications prior to removing the old belt. That way when I installed the new belt it was just a matter of getting the dotted line (crank) and solid lines (cams) to match up to the timing indicators. In the cam picture on the right side there is an indidictor on the engine block (oil pump) and on the left side of the gear is a small line high lighted in blue. This is the spot where the dotted line of the new belt is to go.

I've attched some pictures of these indicators prior to installing the new belt. These are as viewed from the front of my Rodeo.
