Yes, there will be at least a few grocery stores that are 4-7 miles away. Very little immediately at the campground.

I'd recommend a tent that's rated for at least 2 people so you can comfortably spread out stuff in the tent.

I have a large tent you can use. I will be sleeping in the back of my truck. It's a 6 person tent, so it's plenty big for a single person. It's tall enough that I can get dressed while standing up (slightly hunched over) and I'm 6'2". What are your sleeping arrangements? I have a cot, too, if you need it. It's fairly comfortable and keeps you off the ground. Let me know when you will be arriving. I plan on driving down Wednesday night after work. I'm going to e-mail a couple other people and see if they want to caravan from town.

As for grocery stores, there is a City Market in Buena Vista. I know a few people will need to stop and pick stuff up. I'll probably have to make a trip there for ice on Friday.

Alan, thanks for the generous offer, but I can borrow one. I just wasn't sure which was handier, sounds like you recommend one big enough for a cot

I checked out your website, looks like you've wheeled in the area we're going to. If the City Market is the same chain as the one in Moab, that'll be perfect, they had a great deli.

Thanks again,
Mark

Hello Everyone,

After being away from 4x4wire and POR for a few months, i'm finally back to the land of the living (silly work and family issues). I've signed up for the trip, it's a go for my husband and me..i'm totally looking fwd to being in BV again with friends new and old

So Far, I'll be easing my wheeling aches and pains at the Cottonwood Hot Springs after our evening hijinks and dining adventures. The City Market in BV is well stocked, if you need more provisions; there's a WalMart in Salida and a Safeway in Leadville. The Subway sandwich shop in BV is a drive through and it's open for breakfast and til 10pm. Pizza Hut is in town, too.

Anxiously Anticipating,
Lee

Well hell... I'm gonna have to bow out.

I made a commitment that is going to take up the weekends for the next couple of months. Without going into too much detail, I'm helping the AZ wildfire situation in a very behind the scenes way. It's affecting my free time greatly, but it's been a tough couple of years for AZ and there's been a request for help, so I jumped in.

Jeff, I'll get with you to figure out the whole raffle donation thing and somehow we'll get it over there. Jeez, the way things are going, I hope the damn thing is done by then !

Sorry folks, really wanted to meet all of you and meet up and wheel with the folks I already know...

Mike

Dang Mike, I'm gonna miss you, especially the CB chat on that long drive to Buena Vista At least you're doing something very worthy of a cancellation

Yeah, I'm not quite despondent, but...

What I think I'll miss the most is to see Lee and Martin's 4Runner with the sliders on... I was lovin' it at FJ when they wheeled it like they stole it, the sliders should make their bravado much more interesting... Lee, I am expecting pics!!!

Funny thing about the CB, I hated that thing at first, but me having the big ol' yapper that I have, I was groovin' it! I'll be thinking about wheeling while I'm playing grease monkey.

Mike

Ok all, I've worked up a few designs for this years CO4RJ T-shirts and window stickers. I would like your feedback on which you like better or any other comments. Don't fret if you hate them - I have some other ideas if these don't strike anyones fancy.

So...

Go here and vote!
