Rear lift... blocks vs. add a leaf #662596 11/02/05 06:10 PM

I need help deciding what to get to lift my rear a few inches. For the front, I'm doing 3" spacers. I read that add a leaf only lifts about 2"... so would that even look right?

This truck is my daily driver... I usually have an empty bed, but on occasion, I will need it to be able to carry some heavy stuff like lumber, cement blocks... but again, only once in a while.

The tacos are a little high in the back anyway, so 2" will probably leave you level. It's really hard to recommend blocks, but the AAL will be pretty stiff. Oh well, it is a truck now, isn't it <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I have added 3in add-a-leafs and it rides real rough. The twos will not be as bad. I have had people tell me not to go with the blocks. I guess they have problems out fourwheeling. I don't take mine off road to much but still staying with the add-a-leaves. I can get a standard inspection sticker the way it sets. So much easier then getting the lift sticker.

What does your state make you do when lifted?

You can go with up to 3" blocks in the rear with out any problems on or off road, and they will not make the ride stiffer. Anything more than 3" blocks will require some sort of traction/ladder bars to keep the axle wrap in check.

They make you get a lift sticker. The check over your truck more then a standard inspection. The lift sticker cost more also, i am not sure on the price.
