Based on what mlclark said a Isuzu ball joint is not designed to completley fail. An 87 fiero "will" fail not just the ball joint the whole vehicle <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

I have a good friend who had an early Fiero. The best thing that can be said about them is that you will never find a high mileage Fiero (It is impossible to keep one running long enough to accumulate much mileage).

I'm going to pick up the BJ later on today. Also noticed something else... The steering wheel is off-center by about an 1/8 of a turn. Could this be related to my BJ troubles or should I be looking for another problem.

That depends on wether it was that way before Uhwarrie or not. If it's been that way, it probably was just not centered when it was last alligned. If this developed after the trip, I would look for "tweaked" steering linkage, most likely tie-rods.
