Am I too late? Here's a picture of my original set, which didn't quite work out as expected, for obvious reasons. Yes, the drag link is a piece of wood. The lower photo shows the easy solution.

Although you probably can't tell from the photo, I'll also need to install some front bump stops to keep the drag link away from the frame. I've only got about 1 1/2" to 2" of up travel before I start running into stuff. Oh well...

And...before anybody jumps on me, those two bolts holding the high steer on were a temp fix. Since the photo, they've been replaced with studs and nuts.

I was wondering about those bolts sammy! Your sas looks almost the exact same as mine, especially thoe rear hangers. Do you have your stock drive shaft hooked up?

Also, about the up-travel... Have you flexed it out? my drag-link was in almost the exact same spot and I never touched the frame with it, even when fully flexed.

If not, just ream out your pitman so you can put the TRE in from the bottom.

The reason our rigs look so similar is because I just ripped off your set up (and Mike Bantz).

At first, I thought I would be able to get things done without the high steer, but the mock up with the douglas fir drag link proved me wrong. Boring out the pitman is a good idea, never really thought to do that -- especially after I broke my 1 1/8" Snap On socket trying to get the stupid thing off.

For the front drive shaft, I picked up an '85 Toyata front cv, which I'll have retubed to the proper length. They make a special u joint which is Toyota on the drive shaft yoke and D44 (1310) on the pinion side. Right now I'm just waiting for my machinist neighbor to finish up the adaptor that will match up the Toyota flange to the Isuzu transfer case flange. I'm going for the record of 'most time spent completing an Isuzu SAS'.

Heck no, I don't wanna! It's just turing out that way (begin in May). I would gladly be the runner up.

I think daniel T is up in the runnings as well BUT you guys will flip when you see his finished product!

Mine I hope won't take too long, but no spare time, a slow month at work (meaning a thin wallet) and other variables make things harder. Trying to get everything straight so when I do have all my parts together and some time to get going, I won't get hung up on too many things.

Thanks for all the info so far!

At what part of the game does this time actually start?
