BroncosFan??

I'd like to help you but, I'm sorry, I just can't STAND the Broke-os!! (OK, sorry - disgruntled Packers fan with a very vivid memory of SBXXXII.)

In any event, and thanks for asking, we have got the shocks tuned pretty well - well good enough for me at the moment anyway (BTW Randy, I'm running at about 250 psi per shock now).

However, now the shocks are STIFF - that's STIFF with a capital STIFF!! (if you get my meaning). There's definitely no more compressing to the point where I feel I'm going to roll and I can take corners like it was stock now (but don't ).

Honestly, with this flexy set-up I've found that there is a pretty significant trade-off between compression and rebound in the air shock settings. Too much compression (like previously) and the free-floating nature of the set-up will make you feel like you're gonna tip over on low-speed turns. Too much rebound and you get a very stiff ride.

That's where I'm at now, but (me personally) I'd trade rebound for compression just about every day for driving around town. It is stiff, but not too bad at highway speeds. I'll try to get some final pics taken and posted soon and will continue to tweak the shocks as time allows (big learning curve here).

In hindsight (being 20/20 as it is) I may have opted to run coil over shocks as OneBadTrooper suggested above. I't will be interesting to compare if someone else tries this set-up; it is VERY flexy (good off-road; not so good on).

I will have her down at ZUZoo IX and look forward to seeing you all again there.

Billdo - I ordered those shocks through my garage, OuterLimits Motorsports, whom I believe, ordered them straight from the manufacturer - let me know if I can help you further.

Best regards all,

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hmmm...that's intresting. I had hoped that the air shocks would be a good option for the front versus bulky leaf springs and costly coilovers. Sounds like maybe that's not the setup I would want. Like yourself, my truck is a daily driver and high speed handling is very important to me. Did you get a front sway bar installed, and if so how did that help out when tuned for more compression?

Excellent looking setup by the way, and don't feel bad about XXXII, your team played great. At least they're not like the Broncos who didn't show up for the championship game...at home!!!

High speed handling is definitely not Panzer's forte' any longer & high speed evasive manuvers give me concern, so I drive fairly conservatively and defensively now (well, much more now than before).

I did not get a front sway-bar installed (just the rear), though it had been suggested by the shop. They felt we could control the lean better that way and still have ample compression for a caddy-like ride. It is still a possibility as is running dual shocks up front, which would be tuned differently to get much the same effect, without the location problems of a front sway-bar.

Still a work in progress - who knows, it still may turn out to be the ticket. I just haven't had the time or $$ lately to do much about it.

Best,
